The UK is home to the international headquarters of our client, employing around 650 on site and a further 650 nationwide.
As well as the Group’s core range of industrial control systems, UK customers benefit from the company’s expertise in software development, standard and bespoke control and information systems are created for many industrial and retail applications.
Reporting to the General Manager Service UK the objective of this role will be to take responsibility for the total strategic and operational requirements of the Regional Service Division throughout the south of the UK including 8 Service Managers and c100 Technicians
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- To assist in developing direction and strategy for the Service Centers and Contracts Division with responsibility for defining and implementing the operational goals for the region.
- To prepare and review budgets for the Division, striving continuously to ensure the achievement of financial targets and control of operational costs. To manage and prepare the submission of regular financial and revenue forecasts.
- To regularly conduct business reviews with each Service Manager within the region, targeting areas of concern and implementing solutions.
- To employ effective people management skills to manage the Regional Service team to co-ordinate objectives and tasks to ensure the ongoing development of the region.
- To carry out regular meetings with direct reports to support, assess workloads, identify priorities, review action taken and agree future action plans.
- To take overall responsibility for the field management, motivation and efficiency of all personnel, through terms and conditions of employment and training.
- To assist, identify and implement strategies to exploit all opportunities in order to maximise all revenue opportunities in the Service and Contracts Divisions.
- Play a key role in maintaining and building effective and profitable relationships with Key Customers, acting as a senior point of contact for any escalated issues and getting involved where appropriate at presentations, customer reviews and tender processes.
- To continuously analyse Market/Customer trends for industrial equipment and services in order to liaise effectively with the Marketing Division regarding changing requirements.
- Where necessary, to support and work closely with Sales personnel and to use effective negotiation and problem solving skills to resolve any outstanding issues in order to secure Customer orders.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following attributes.
- Significant and relevant management experience within a service environment.
- Experience of sales and key account management, with sophisticated commercial awareness.
- Effective people-management skills and inspirational and motivational leadership style.
- Previous involvement with change-management and cultural change programmes.
- High level of negotiation and customer-facing interpersonal skills, ability to effectively manage conflict.
- Excellent time management and self-organisational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the Company and other Customer organisations.
- A full driving license is essential for this role.
