Our client is a market leading global supplier of flexible packaging solutions for use primarily within the food industry. They have grown the business over the last 5-8 years through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisition and are well positioned for the next stage in their development.

The aim of this role is to further develop and implement the sales strategy throughout Spain to increase turnover, profit and market share in line with the company’s global growth plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Achieve the assigned sales revenue, profitability and new customer forecasts for the region, selling the complete product range throughout the region.
  • Be the primary sales representative for all end user accounts in the region including national, multinational and global key accounts.
  • Maximise the sales performance against agreed targets and maintain profitability in line with company objectives and through discussion with sales management.
  • Build long term business relationships with customers through the provision of sales, marketing, training and technical support.
  • Understand the technical and application aspects of the complete product range and have the ability to sell the added value benefits to the market place.
  • Utilise all the available tools and internal resources to prospect for new business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at local and international trade shows, presentations and seminars when required.

Person Specification

We are looking to recruit a high calibre sales professional to join the Spanish team of one of the world’s leading suppliers of flexible packaging solutions.

  • We seek an experienced sales professional looking for career development in Spain.
  • You must have at least 3 years experience of successful added value / solution selling experience.
  • At ease with technical matters and ideally degree education.
  • A tenacious individual, who does not take no for an answer.
  • Able to work in a team environment and coach and influence others.
  • At least 3 years of solution sales experience preferably gained within the Spanish packaging industry.
  • Track record of measurable achievements in a similar role.
  • Strong minded individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, a rare tenacity for problem solving and a desire to succeed.
  • A talented influencer with an acute sense of diplomacy.
  • A team worker at ease with resources he/she does not have direct control of.
