Technical Sales Executive - Flexible Plastic Food Packaging

A market leading global supplier of flexible plastic packaging solutions for use primarily within the food industry the company has grown over the last 5-8 years through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisition.

Working as part of the UK sales team this role will provide local technical support to the current UK and Ireland Sales Team and provide a pro-active and focused audit approach in developing added value sales aligned with company strategy to new and existing customers.

Key functions

• To provide technical support for all products sold in all markets in UK and Ireland.
  Liaise with the Sales Team to develop implementation plans for technical audits focusing on added value products at current and new customers
• To conduct technical line audits and publish appropriate reports
• Liaise closely with European Manufacturing Plants to ensure field information is utilised (e.g. material and application requirements, etc)
• Assist in the Product Development Process by implementing and reporting field trials for new products to the respective Manufacturing Plants
• Establish close working relationships with key Machinery Companies to generate new leads
• Gather competitor and market intelligence and relay to the Commercial / Marketing team
• Deliver sales presentations to all levels (internal & external) in a clear and concise manner when required

Skills required

• Degree qualified (technical bias) or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in a technical background
• Basic food hygiene certificate with a food science background
• Team orientated but able to work under own initiative
• Strong Project management skills
• Tenacious and Persistent
• Understanding of process and equipment (technical background)
• Strong problem solving & analytical skills.
