Business Development Manager Job - Flexible Packaging Solutions

Our client is a market leading global supplier of flexible packaging solutions for use primarily within the food industry. They have grown the business over the last 5-8 years through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisition and are well positioned for the next stage in their development.

The aim of this role is to profitably grow the shrink bag business throughout Europe while co-ordinating development efforts for new product introduction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor the business plan for shrink bags in coordination with appropriate sales and manufacturing personnel
• Prioritises product development efforts with manufacturing to maintain the focus and direction as they relate to customer needs
• Coordinate, implement and qualify all leads and assign to the appropriate sales person and/or distributor, with follow up to be sure new business is realised
• Identify new markets and product opportunities, coordinate product development with the manufacturing plant and assess the profitability of these opportunities.
• Manage the international distributors in line with the business plan

Person Specification

We are looking to recruit a high calibre sales professional to join the European management team of one of the world’s leading suppliers of flexible packaging solutions.

• Degree level intellect demonstrated by education or experience
• Personal presence and gravitas to deal with customers at all levels
• In depth understanding of the European flexible packaging market place with a demonstrable track record of success in the sales of packaging solutions to the European food industry
• Experience in developing multi level multi site key account management strategies to key players in the European Food industry
• A proven track record of success identifying, managing and training European distributors
