Reporting to the Senior Vice President the Sales Director Horizontal Packaging Machines is responsible for setting a clear strategy and developing the business in EMEA.
Main responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing a team of six area sales managers selling directly to customers, as well as implementing and maintaining relationships with sales agents
- Developing and implementing strategy to achieve annual sales plans, sales quotas, expense budgets and forecast sales for each territory
- Negotiating and reviewing customer contracts and developing partnerships with key agents
- Developing appropriate senior-level relationships with major customers to ensure detailed understanding of market demand and potential
- Managing the marketing and sales process to improve the market share of the company and communicating accordingly with the Executive Staff
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by appropriate management of product launches, meeting service level objectives and timely resolution of issues
- Developing relationships with other functions (R&D, production, quality, team leaders) to ensure that critical processes are appropriately designed and effectively operated to support commercial objectives and to develop alternatives to customer requests
The Ideal Person
- The person we are looking for will have a minimum of 15 years experience working in commercial leadership roles in an international environment in the packaging machinery sector
- The company needs a person with strong leadership skills and the ability to develop the business through direct sales as well as supporting sales through third parties
- This person will have the experience, affinity and desire to lead a sales team and quickly establish credibility externally and internally
- A bridge builder and a natural networker, the person will form appropriate relationships with customers and potential customers and will make sure that both internal and external stakeholders are informed about the business’ strategy and direction
- Demonstrating strategic insight the person we seek is an accomplished negotiator with the skills to persuade and influence others
- Languages - The person must be fluent in English. Knowledge of French, Dutch or German would be an advantage
